Would just like to thank and highly recommend Dave from EK Build for installing a custom made steel lintel and reinstating the brickwork. His workmanship was carried out to a very high standard and communication with us was excellent through out the process.

Just had EK build out to repair my front porch, and what an excellent job they made of it. They arrived on time, worked quietly and well, cleaned up after themselves and explained throughout what was to happen.The cost was less than I expected and was worth every penny. I have no hesitation in recommending this company. We shall have them back to do further work.

David Birkwood of EK build is the Fylde Coasts 4th Emergency service! – He has rescued our recently purchased bungalow and turned it into a home.
He came out straightaway to help us the day after we moved in following our request for help posted on ‘Fylde Approved Trades’.
We were in somewhat of a panic, but Dave is very knowledgeable and re-assuring & has got to the bottom of and sorted the damp issues we had including:
Wet & dry rot – rotten joists and floors etc.
He has also completed a beautiful bathroom, replastered throughout and re-vamped our kitchen. He has an eye for detail, is informative, but never pushy.
We would also like to acknowledge Dave’s team who worked with him to complete the work in a professional and efficient manner, all at short notice.

Dave (EK Build) provided a great service right from the outset – identified the cause of the damp problem and provided the solution at a highly competitive price. Great work ethic, kept me updated as things progressed and when a new problem was identified he discussed options and came up with the most cost effective approach. Quality of the work was first class – I have no hesitation in recommending EK Build

Used Dave to tank my cellar ready to be turned into a bedroom. He has been great kept me up to date every day with progress & always turned up when he said he would. He has been very honest with me & didn’t do anything extra without talking to me first & he kept to the price quoted.
He is now about to start work on investigation & treatment off the damp in my living room.

Over the past few years Dave has undertaken a variety of work for both myself and my son all completed to an excellent standard. All the work undertaken was completed on time to a really high standard at a competitive cost. The work undertaken has been varied in both size and complexity and includes resolving a rising damp issue at our previous property to minimise the mess and inconvenience the work was undertaken whilst we were away on holiday.. Whilst away Dave provided updates of the work including photographs as it progressed having seen these photos we were amazed when we returned how clean and tidy the house was. Dave has also replaced several failed double glazed windows into the existing Mahogany Window frames at a fraction of the cost of specialist double glazing companies with no compromise on the quality of the finished work. Dave fully replaced and re felted a flat roof on my sons garage also replacing the rotten Fascias, Soffits and Barge boards to the roof of the house with UPVC ones once again to a high standard Our previous house was an old property so Dave undertook many smaller maintenance / repair activities such as re-pointing of ridge tiles and chimney stacks, a variety of plumbing jobs all at a very fair price and in a timely manner. Dave is definitely a tradesman you can both trust and rely on. When we moved to our current house we wanted some alterations / modernisation of the property and Dave undertook a complete refit of our en-suite, replaced the sliding patio doors with modern French Doors and installed outside lighting to the rear, side and front of the property. Dave is a true tradesman who completes the work professionally to a high standard and a fair price whatever the size and complexity of the job.

We moved into Preesall a year ago .after moving in we found damp in the porch and bedroom .I contacted Dave at EK Build ..No problem .He sorted it .He as also dug out all the front garden and drive he laid Indian stone to the drive and front garden .also slate he moved the gate forward and made good the side of the house .plus lots of work in the back garden ..all at fair prices .Now a good friend .we would recommend EK Build to anyone ..We love our house .Mike and Madeleine Shipman”

I want to thank Dave for identifying & sorting this out for me. I employed him for new bathroom, I wasn’t aware of this damp health hazard. I am so grateful to him for clearing this and will be advising neighbours to check their air bricks aren’t all sealed up. I recommend Dave, a good hard worker & decent tradesman
